Camellia s. ‘Setsugekka’ produces good-sized semi-double flowers in pure white. It is slow a growing upright to spreading shrub. It can become a small tree with age with oval glossy leaves and profuse winter to spring blooming flowers in the milder climates. Camellias must have acidic well-drained soil and be planted high (trunk base is well above the soil line) in a protected climate free from extended heavy freezes. Mulching helps to keep the roots cool.
