Centaurea cineraria sometimes called ‘Velvet Centaurea’ is also known as “Dusty Miller”. It is a small plant that originates from an island in Italy. The mature plants will grow from 6 inches to 24 inches. They prefer full sun but will tolerate light shade. Prefers average to rich well-drained soil. Centaurea cineraria will produce small white or yellow flowers in the summer but these are usually insignificant flowers. Depending on climate Dusty Miller can be grown as either an annual or a perennial.
