Cupaniopsis anacardioides (Carrotwood Tree) is an evergreen tree native to Australia Indonesia and New Guinea. It is slender usually with a single trunk that has dark gray outer bark covering inner bark that is often orange in color. It is called Carrotwood for this reason. The leaves are comprised of leathery shiny yellowish green leaflets. The leaflets are wide with smooth margins and rounded. It produces small white to greenish yellow flowers in branched clusters. The fruits consist of short-stalked segmented capsules up to an inch across that are yellow-orange when they ripen.
