Cuphea hyssopifolia ‘Compacta’ produces sprays of small lacy lavender-pink flowers in warm months. These flowers will appear sporadically throughout the year in warmer climates. The small shrub has dense glossy leaves and its blooms are self-cleaning thus requiring no deadheading. It is also called as Mexican heather elfin herb or Hawaiian heather.It is best grown in dappled shade but it will tolerate full sun if given regular water. It is usually planted it in moist very well-drained fertile soil. Cuphea h. Compacta is often used as an edging or border plant.
