The deep green leaves are edged in sparkling white and tinged with pink in the winter. The leaf form is oval it is “toothed” and is evergreen. The flowers are not very showy. They are greenish-white and appear in the early summer. The fruits come in the fall. They are white capsules that expose bright orange seeds. Euonymus fortunei ‘Emerald Gaiety’ tolerates a wide range of soil conditions including high moisture. It will not do well in swampy conditions however. Plant Euonymus fortunei ‘Emerald Gaiety’ in full sun to part shade. It makes a great hedge plant but it needs regular water: at least weekly or more often in extreme heat.
