Juncus effusus ‘Quartz Creek’ commonly called a Quartz Creek Soft Rush is an evergreen rush that has dark green long erect grass-like rounded stems that grow to 18” to 30” tall. It spreads eventually forming dense colonies of growth. During summer the stems display inconspicuous reddish brown flower clusters. ‘Quartz Creek’ is planted in sun or part shade in a wide range of soils from dry to moist. It tolerates heavy clay soil and is cold hardy. Juncus effusus ‘Quartz Creek’ is sometimes used in a mass planting but works also as an accent plant or as an attractive specimen in a large container.
