Fast-growing evergreen perennial with clumping growth to 3-4′ tall x 2-3′ wide. This visually dramatic species features long medium-green grass-like foliage accented with abundant spikes of showy multi-toned flower clusters in shades of coral-red orange and yellow. These flowers rise above the foliage mid-spring through fall attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. Removing spent flowers will help to encourage new blooms. Well-suited as an accent in flower beds mixed borders as a mass planting or container specimen. Tolerates coastal conditions as well as warmer inland climates and while this species requires little water once established a more robust appearance will be achieved with light regular watering. Thrives in a warm full sun exposure.
