Moderate-growing deciduous tree to 35’ tall and 25-40′ wide. This tough species eventually forms a rounded canopy of pinnately compound leaflets that emerge with a purple-tinge maturing to a bright to deep-bluish-green. Abundant panicles of tiny fragrant yellow flowers appear in mid-summer followed by showy papery pale-green seed capsules that mature to brown and persist into fall. Adding further appeal is the attractive fall foliage color in lovely shades of gold and yellow. Well-suited as a shade or patio tree and the non-invasive roots of this species also make it a popular choice for planting as a street tree. Tolerates cold heat wind smog a wide range of soil PH conditions and a variety of different soil types provided they’re fast-draining. Drought tolerant once established though a more robust-looking specimen will be achieved with regular watering. Thrives in a full sun exposure.
