The dark pink flowers of the ‘Sioux’ crepe myrtle bloom over dark green foliage in July and August. Lagerstroemia x ‘Sioux’ also has good maroon fall color.

The deciduous crepe myrtle is among the longest blooming trees.  Flowering periods last from 60 to as much 120 days.  The trees grow 12-15 ft tall by 8-10 ft wide.  Leaves on most crepe myrtle are alternate and smooth.  The leaf size depends on the variety but the flowers are produced in big clusters.  Depending on the variety crepe myrtles grow as large shrubs or as trees.
