Category:

Moderate-growing evergreen tree with a broad, conical growth-habit to 60-80’ tall x 20-25’ wide. Revered for its handsome, year-round foliage and impressive flower display, this vigorous-growing variety features glossy, dark-green leaves with russet-colored undersides (generally smaller than most in the grandiflora species), accented with large, fragrant, slightly-cup-shaped, creamy-white flowers that appear in summer. Flowers are followed by red-seeded, cone-like fruit that emerge light-green to eventually mature to shades of reddish-brown and tan as they mature. Well-suited in large-space landscapes, parks or open spaces. Sometimes planted as a street tree, though its surface-rooting nature should be considered when choosing a planting location. Thrives with moderate watering in a full sun exposure.
