Passiflora alata ‘Ruby’ (Passion Vine) is sometimes known as Ruby Passion Vine. It is a vine native to South America. It blooms profusely in the fall with large flowers that are 5 inches across and displaying an intense dark maroon color. ‘Ruby Glow’ loves the sun but can tolerate some shade. It flourishes with average watering.
It should be noted that Passion vines come in about 400 species with endless colors combinations. Passion vines are good climbers that wrap around just about anything for support as they grow to as much as 15 to 20 feet or more. The flowers appear in spring through summer in most warm climates.
