Pittosporum crassifolium is an evergreen shrub that produces grey-green round leaves that are covered with grayish hairs. It is generally an upright grower reaching 8 to 12 feet tall and 6 to 10 feet wide thought it is often kept smaller by pruning. It blooms in the spring with fragrant maroon colored flowers. Pittosporum crassifolium grows in full sun and when established it requires little water. Pittosporum crassifolium is seen in many different landscape environments. It is known to be resistant to seaside conditions and quite tolerant of drought. It will often be seen as an upright hedging plant in coastal landscapes.
