Moderate-growing deciduous shrub to 4’ tall and wide. This versatile cold-hardy variety forms a rounded-mound of finely divided soft-green foliage cloaked in a profusion of dainty buttercup-shaped lemon-yellow flowers appearing throughout summer attracting butterflies. Tolerates moist or dry conditions and a variety of soil types provided they are well-drained. Well suited as an accent informal hedge border or mass planting. Prefers a full to partial sun exposure.

Potentilla fruiticosa ‘Katherine Dykes’ grows to 3 feet tall in an arching graceful form.  It is a rounded shrub with slender but sprawling branches that have medium green to gray-green leaflets. Creamy yellow flowers appear from early to late summer. It is a cold hardy shrub down to -50ºF.
