Moderate-growing deciduous tree to 20-25’ tall x 15-20’ wide. Vase-shaped in youth, this floriferous variety eventually develops a more rounded head with age, and features bronzy-red tinged new foliage that matures to a rich medium to dark green, turning yellow before dropping in fall. Prized for its profuse, spectacular display of lightly-fragrant double pink flowers that appear in early-spring before or along with its attractive bronzy-red new growth. Considered one of the most beautiful of the flowering cherry trees, this variety is well-suited as a lawn, patio or street tree, and is greatly desired for Asian- themed gardens. Requires a well-drained soil with regular watering, and prefers a full sun exposure for best growth and flowering performance.
