Moderate-growing evergreen shrub with a rounded growth-habit to 3-5’ tall and wide. Indian Hawthorn has long been a popular landscape favorite revered for its durability and dependable flower display. This attractive and versatile variety features coppery-red-tinged new foliage maturing to a rich dark-green and is accented with abundant clusters of pink-tinged buds opening to lightly-fragrant pure white flowers in spring attracting bees. Following flowering appear small berry-like dark-blue fruit though they are mostly inconspicuous. Well-suited as a foundation planting in mixed borders as an accent mass planting hedge or container specimen and can be pruned into a small patio tree. This species is will tolerate low water; however looks best with a light regular watering schedule. Prefers a well-drained soil in a full to partial sun exposure. Best flowering and growth-habit will occur in a full sun exposure.
