Moderate-growing large evergreen shrub or small tree to 15-20’ tall x 8-10’ wide. Indian Hawthorn has long been a popular landscape favorite revered for its durability and dependable flower display. This robust variety grows larger than most in its species and features handsome glossy dark-green foliage accented with profuse lightly-fragrant star-shaped light-pink flowers that create a dazzling display in spring. Attracts bees. Following flowering appear small berry-like dark-blue fruit though they are mostly inconspicuous. Well-suited as a large hedge or screen and can be pruned into a wonderful low-maintenance patio or courtyard tree. This species is drought tolerant but looks best with a light regular watering schedule. Prefers a well-drained soil in a full to partial sun exposure. Best flowering and growth-habit will occur in a full sun exposure.
