Category:

Moderate-growing shrub-like evergreen perennial with an upright growth-habit to 30” tall x 2-3’ wide. This long-blooming hybrid variety tolerates heat and humidity and features bright-green foliage contrasted with showy velvety cherry-red flowers appearing on the branch tips late-spring into fall or nearly year-round in mild climates. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies and is well-suited in beds and borders in rock gardens or as an individual accent or mass planting. Also makes a good container specimen. Requires a well-drained soil and little water once established though a more robust looking specimen is achieved with supplemental summer watering. Full to partial sun.
