Fast-growing evergreen perennial with an upright, rounded growth habit to 3’ tall and wide. This popular garden favorite features lush, medium to dark-green foliage growing on purplish-black stems, and is accented with spikes of unique, vibrant cobalt-blue flowers that emerge from nearly black calyxes. These showy flowers are a favorite for butterflies and hummingbirds, and appear from summer into fall. Removing old flowers as they expire will help to encourage re-blooming. This attractive variety is well-suited in beds, borders or containers, and makes a great background for lower growing annuals and perennials. Performs best in rich, loamy, well-drained soils with regular watering and a full sun to partial shade exposure. Too much shade will promote a weaker, more leggy-growing specimen. Deer resistant.
