Category:

Fast-growing perennial with an open, upright growth habit to 4-6′ tall x 3-4′ wide. This long-blooming species develops slender, willowy stems of bright-green foliage topped with vibrant light-purple flower clusters that appear late-spring to fall. A favorite for butterflies. Great for cottage gardens, in beds and borders, or as a colorful contrast to broadleaf shrubs. Its lightly foliated stems create an airy appearance that is perfect for applications requiring a see-through effect. Prune occasionally if a lower, more dense-growing specimen is desired. This heat-loving species can reseed in open areas, has low to moderate water needs once established, and thrives in a full to partial sun exposure.
