Fast-growing evergreen succulent often forming multiple urn-shaped rosettes growing to 4-5′ tall and wide. Rubbery textured 3-4 wide bright-green to bluish-green leaves do not have teeth but possess sharp reddish-brown terminal spines on the tips. With age produces showy yellow flowers clusters on an 8-10′ tall stem in mid-spring. Great as a focal point specimen in rock gardens or planted in mass as well as being a fine container specimen. Requires a well-drained soil and has low water needs once established. While generally sun loving provide some shaded protection in warm low desert areas. Full to partial sun.
