Category:

Moderately fast-growing herbaceous perennial to 12-15” tall x 12-18” wide. This unique variety forms a compact mound of fuzzy-textured, bright green foliage and is prized for its dazzling, long-lasting flower display that is sure to be a standout in any setting. Abundant flower stalks are topped with pinwheel-like flowers comprised of deep-maroon-colored centers with eye-catching, fluted, yellow flower petals that display contrasting orange and red throat markings, truly one of the most spectacular in the perennial kingdom. These visually splendid flowers rise above the foliage summer into fall, or nearly year-round in mild climates, and are a magnet for butterflies and bees. Remove old flowers as they expire to promote re-blooming. Great for beds and borders, cottage gardens, or as a long-blooming container specimen, as well as making a great cut flower for mixed flower arrangements.  Requires regular watering in a well-drained soil, and thrives in a full sun exposure.
