Plant Type

Agave

Moderate-growing agave-like evergreen to 4-6’ tall and wide. This dramatic Mexico native forms multiple rosettes of flexible, arching, unarmed soft-gray leaves accented with a contrasting yellow center stripe that gives this durable variety a bold and striking appearance. Adding further appeal are the tall, stout spikes of hummingbird-attracting, Flamingo-like, coral-pink flowers that rise above the attractive foliage in summer. The hardiest of the Beschorneria species (hardy to 15°F), this low-maintenance variety is well-suited as a bold accent in the landscape or in large containers, and makes a great poolside planting. Prefers a well-drained soil and requires little water once fully-established. Thrives in a full sun exposure. Deer resistant.
