Moderately fast-growing deciduous tree with a columnar growth-habit to 50-70’ tall x 15-20’ wide with age. This North America native is a narrow-growing hybrid that features deeply-lobed, dark-green leaves with pale-green undersides, with tones of yellow, red and orange developing in the cool of fall. Fall foliage color is most pronounced in cooler climates. Red flower clusters appear in spring, followed by winged seed pods in fall that eventually give way to small red fruit. Well-suited as a lawn, park or shade tree, and with its uniquely narrow growth form, it’s an outstanding choice for smaller, limited space landscapes. Tolerates a wide variety of soil types, from moist to dry, and thrives in a full sun exposure.
