Moderate-growing, clumping perennial to 18-24” tall and wide. Evergreen in warmer climates, semi-deciduous in colder climates. Agapanthus have long been admired for their tough nature and dazzling, dependable floral display. This long-blooming semi-dwarf variety forms a soft mound of narrow, arching, strap-like green leaves that make an outstanding texture contrast to broad-leafed shrubs and perennials. Often referred to as looking like a firework display, abundant, ball-shaped clusters of funnel-shaped deep-violet-blue flowers appear atop 3-4’ tall stems throughout the warmer months of the year, attracting butterflies and bees. Remove old flower spikes as they expire to promote re-blooming. This versatile selection is well-suited in a variety of applications, and is an ideal choice for beds and borders, as an accent, edging, poolside or mass planting. Also makes a good container specimen. Tolerates coastal conditions and a variety of soil types (provided they’re well-drained) and while capable of surviving on little water once established, a more robust plant is achieved with regular watering in a full to partial sun exposure.
