Anigozanthos ‘Pink Joey’ sometimes called Dwarf Pink Kangaroo Paw is an evergreen perennial that grows in clump forms 1 to 2 ft. wide. It produces bright green strap-shaped leaves to 18 inches tall. In late spring through fall pink flowers emerge on 2 to 4 ft. tall stems and they are covered with soft pink colored hairs. Anigozanthos is best when planted in full sun and in well drained soils. Anigozanthos require regular irrigation and light fertilizing in spring. They only flower once and need to be cleaned out after the flowering period. Remove the old leaves down to as low as possible at the end of a season. Care should be exercised that new emerging Anigozanthos fans are not damaged.
