Evergreen shrub that is low and spreading making a 5′-6′ mound it can spread as far as 7′ in five years. It has glossy reddish black bark with bright green leaves in spring it has white to pink flowers in an upside down urn shape followed by berry like fruit that can attract birds. Prefers full sun to light shade and moderate to little water when established.
