Moderate-growing evergreen shrub to 2-4′ tall x 3-5′ wide. This cold-hardy, low-growing, floriferous Kurume variety forms a rounded-mound of compact-growing foliage, and is prized for its impressive display of abundant, single crimson-red flowers that nearly cover the entire plant in spring – truly a spectacular display.  Adding further appeal to this popular variety is the attractive bronzy-red foliage color that appears in the cool of fall. Well-suited as an accent, shrub border or impressive mass-planting, and makes an outstanding container specimen. Prefers a rich, acidic, well-drained soil and a partial sun exposure.
