Moderate-growing deciduous shrub to 4′ tall and wide. This popular cold-hardy landscape favorite features gracefully-arching branches densely cloaked in showy purplish-red foliage throughout the growing season turning an attractive deep-amber-red in the cool temperatures of fall. Foliage coloration is most pronounced in full sun exposures. Dainty mostly inconspicuous yellow flowers appear in spring and are followed by small red berries in late-fall. The dense-growing nature of this variety makes it highly useful as a hedge barrier or median planting as well as an accent or large-area massed groundcover. Prefers a well-drained soil and a full to partial sun exposure. Deer resistant.
