Plant Type

Vine

Moderately fast-growing, vigorous, woody tropical evergreen vine with stems to 20′-30′ tall by 10′ wide. Can be pruned to maintain a smaller size. This attractive variety is best-suited to milder climates and features lush, dark-green foliage covered with a profusion of vibrant orange-pink flowers appearing throughout the warmer months, attracting hummingbirds. Great for hedging, training on fences, trellises,  arbors or as an impressive large container specimen. Bougainvillea in general does not like root disturbance, so the root ball should be left completely undisturbed when planting. Thrives in summer heat in a well-drained soil and once established has low water needs. Overwatered plants will tend to have more abundant foliage with less abundant bloom. Allow soil to dry between watering. Prefers a full to partial sun exposure.
