Plant Type

Perennial

Slow-growing, clumping, grass-like evergreen to semi-evergreen perennial to 6-10″ tall and wide. This attractive species features neat-looking, narrow, blue-green foliage that is ideal for contrasting with other foliage colors on hillsides, banks or in mixed shrub borders. Also looks great when planted in mass and can even be used as a water plant. Inconspicuous brown flowers appear in summer. Tolerates a wide variety of soil types, and while able to survive in moderately dry conditions, a more robust-looking, faster-growing plant is achieved with regular watering. Prune down to 3-4” in fall/winter to help maintain a vigorous growing specimen. Prefers a partial to full sun exposure, but requires some protection from hot afternoon sun in warmer climates. Deer resistant.
