Moderately slow-growing, clumping, grass-like evergreen perennial to 1-2’ tall and wide. This California native species features narrow, gracefully arching medium-green leaves, accented with greenish-colored flowers that mature to light-brown and appear winter through spring. Removing these flowers will prevent reseeding, as this species can self-sow. This versatile plant will grow in dry or wet soils and is well-suited as an accent, edging, mass-planted groundcover, or as an attractive foreground to taller growing shrubs and perennials. Prefers a partial sun to light shade exposure, but will tolerate full sun in coastal climates. Deer resistant.
