Ceanothus ‘Dark Star’ (often called Wild Lilac) is a compact shrub growing to 4-8 feet tall x 8-12 feet wide. It is composed of small rough-textured dark green leaves and dark blue flower clusters that appear in Spring. Plant it in full sun. ‘Dark Star’ requires little or no water in summer. One of the most profuse bloomers as well as one of the darkest blue Ceanothus its purple buds and cobalt blue flowers cover the plant in spring.
