Ceanothus gloriosus ‘Emily Brown’ has arching branches of small holly-like leaves that are adorned with lavender blue flowers in late winter and early spring. It is suitable for slope planting or planted in the back of a perennial bed. Ceanothus ‘Emily Brown’ is considered to be a small-scale groundcover growing to 4-6 ft. high and 1 ft. across. The leaves are dark green with dark red-brown stems. Emily Brown flowers best near the coast. It needs some shade inland.
