Ceanothus ‘Joyce Coulter’ is sometimes called Wild Lilac. It is a fast growing mounding evergreen shrub with arching branches that growing 2 to 3 feet tall and 10 to 15 feet wide. It has small medium dark green leaves and medium blue flower clusters that appear in late spring. OK to plant in full sun in the coastal areas. It requires water infrequently to occasionally depending on soil and temperature. ‘Joyce Coulter’ can tolerate regular irrigation and heavy soils but it’s best to avoid planting in areas with extreme heat unless there is light shade and regular irrigation.
