Cercis canadensis ‘Forest Pansy’ Eastern redbud is a small deciduous tree with a moderate growth rate. It has a round headed canopy and in spring displays a profusion of small magenta-pink blooms. Large heart-shaped leaves are a deep purple color that turn to purple-green by end of summer. Hardy to zone 5, ‘Forest Pansy’ performs best in partial shade in warmer climates or areas with longer, colder winters.
