Cistus ladanifer often called Crimson Spot Rockrose is an open branching upright shrub 5 ft. tall and wide with deep green waxy wavy leaves. It is covered in white crepe paper blooms in early spring. Crimson Spot makes quite a show. Most rockroses need good drainage and at least five or six hours of sun each day. They can be pruned after they bloom but in a naturalized setting little to no maintenance is required. A true mediterranean shrub that tolerates sun and drought grows fast and blooms heavily in early summer.Excellent in rock gardens.
