‘Tequila Sunrise’ is a hybrid coreopsis. It is compact and noted for yellow and green variegated leaves. It produces solitary yellow daisy-like flowers with bright yellow rays. The flowers are toothed at the tips and are single flowers atop slender stems that rise above the foliage to a height of 16”. The flowers typically bloom from late spring to late summer. The primary flushing of blooms is in May and June. The bloom period is much shorter if the spent flowers are not regularly deadheaded.
