Cornus kousa also called Kousa Dogwood or Chinese Dogwood grows 15 to 20 feet tall. It has beautiful exfoliating bark long lasting flowers good fall color and attractive fruit. The branches grow upright when the tree is young but then they appear in horizontal layers on older trees. The crown remains rounded in shape and eventually grows wider than it is tall on many specimens. Cornus Kousa produces white pointed flower bracts for about a month. The red fruits are edible. Fall color varies from dull red to maroon.
