Cytisus racemosus (Sweet Broom) is a very attractive specimen shrub. It is sometimes also known as the Leafy Sweet Broom. It makes an excellent choice for a patio planting. It prefers fertile well drained soil. Although it is fairly hardy it should be protected from cold temperatures. Small yellow flowers bloom throughout the spring from about March to June/July. It also produces plenty of seeds if home propagation is desired.  It is considered an “”easy care”” plant.
