Dasylirion acrotriche (GGreen Sotol) is often referred to as an “architectural” plant for its attractive looks. It develops a short thick trunk with age and reaches 6′ tall by 5′ wide at maturity. A notable feature is that each leaf ends in a wisp of fibers that blow lightly in the wind. White flowers appear in a striking plume that grows up to 10 ft. It is native native to central Mexico is considered drought tolerant but like other dasylirion it requires well-drained soil and full sun.
