Euonymus kiautschovicus ‘Manhattan’ are evergreen shrubs that are popular as upright growing bushes often used as hedges or screens. They provide beautiful rich green foliage with small decorative white flowers in the summer time. In autumn they bear small pink fruit that attracts butterflies and bees. These shrubs are hardy and can withstand very low temperatures as low as -20 to 0º F but it is important they be planted in an area that has only a little shade and preferably full sun. Though they grow well in some shade they have more abundant blooms with ample sunlight. Don’t forget feeding. Organic fertilizers are recommended for best results. Make sure the soil is well nourished before planting for best results. Euonymous shrubs enjoy rich well-drained soil.During the first year of Euonymous Klaut Manhattan growth the soil should never be allowed to dry out. After they are established they can withstand some dry spells but are not considered drought tolerant. Pruning is important for Euonymus Manhattan care depending on the desired size and shape. All shaping should be done in winter so as not to affect growth.
