Fast-growing evergreen shrub to 8-12’ tall x 8-10’ wide. Can be pruned into a small patio tree. This durable, free-blooming species features sprawling branches of glossy dark-green foliage, accented with showy, intricate, star-shaped, lavender-colored flowers that appear throughout the warmer months, or nearly year-round in mild climates. These eye-catching flowers attract butterflies, bees and birds. Highly versatile, this grateful species is well-suited as a background, slope planting, hedge, espalier or container specimen, and has become a popular topiary and bonsai subject. Takes well to shearing and can be pruned back in early-spring to promote a more dense-growing form. Tolerates wind, inland heat, coastal conditions and poor soil (provided it’s well-drained) and thrives with regular watering in a full sun exposure.

USDA Zone: 9A-11
