Hosta ‘Halcyon’ is known for its retention of blue tones longer than most other hostas. Its leaves are very substantial. The flowers are far more ornamental than those of most hostas. The elongated heart-shaped leaves combine blues with soft greens along the leaf tips.’Halcyon’ should be planted in part to full shade. It reaches 18” to 24” with a slightly wider spread. In late summer it sets slender pale green stems with pastel lavender to white buds. These open into funnel-shaped lilac flowers that attract hummingbirds.
