Moderate-growing shrubby evergreen perennial to 2-3’ tall x 3-4’ wide. Lavandula is revered for its delightfully fragrant and useful foliage as well as its abundant showy flower display. This long-time landscape favorite forms a dense mound of aromatic gray-green foliage contrasted with abundant fragrant pale- lavender-blue flower spikes that rise above the foliage primarily spring through summer or nearly year-round in mild climates. A magnet for butterflies and bees. The versatile fragrant foliage of this species is used for perfumes oils and potpourris while the flowers are great for dried flower arrangements. Sun and heat loving this grateful species requires little water once established though a more robust-looking specimen is achieved with light regular watering in a well-drained soil. Great in rock gardens beds borders or containers and prefers a full to partial sun exposure.
