Moderate-growing evergreen perennial to 1-2 ft tall by 1-2 ft wide. Lavandula is revered for its delightfully fragrant and useful foliage as well as its abundant showy flower display. This compact-growing variety forms a dense mound of aromatic grey-green foliage contrasted with abundant spikes of violet-purple flowers topped with a distinctive crown of petal-like bracts. Blooms late-spring through mid-summer attracting butterflies and bees with sporadic flowering year-round in mild climates. Great for rock gardens and is well-suited as an edging border accent or filler as well as making a fine planter or container specimen. The cut flowers of this variety are great for fresh or dried flower arrangements and the fragrant foliage can be used for sachets and potpourris. Requires little water once established though a more robust looking specimen is achieved with light regular watering. Requires a well-drained soil and prefers full sun exposure.
