Moderate-growing shrubby evergreen perennial to 2-3’ tall x 3-4’ wide. Lavandula is revered for its delightfully fragrant and useful foliage as well as its abundant showy flower display. This long-lived highly heat tolerant variety forms a dense mound of aromatic silvery-gray-green foliage contrasted with abundant fragrant deep-violet-blue flower spikes that rise above the foliage primarily summer into fall or nearly year-round in mild climates. A magnet for butterflies and bees. Removing the old blooms will help prolong blooming the blooming period. The versatile fragrant foliage of this species is used for perfumes oils and potpourris while the flowers are great for dried flower arrangements. Sun and heat loving this grateful species is drought tolerant once established though a more robust-looking specimen is achieved with light regular watering in a well-drained soil. Great in rock gardens beds borders or containers and prefers full sun exposure.
