Plant Type

Shrub

Moderate-growing evergreen shrub with an upright growth habit to 4-6 ft tall x 4-6 ft wide. This attractive member of the Protea family features strongly-upright-growing branches, densely-cloaked with narrow, grayish-green leaves that emerge with an attractive pinkish-red tint. This attractive foliage is topped with interesting, silver-toned, cone-like flower heads that appear in spring. A highly-popular choice for using as a long-lasting foliage filler in mixed flower arrangements. Well-suited as an accent, border or background, this attractive selection is capable of surviving periods of drought, but can tolerate regular watering better than many Leucadendron. Prefers a slightly acidic, well-drained soil, and thrives in a full sun exposure. Deer resistant.
