Fast-growing deciduous shrub with a rounded growth-habit to 8-10’ tall and wide. This attractive variety is revered for its bright golden-colored foliage which is most pronounced when grown in a sunny exposure. Fragrant creamy-white flowers appear in summer attracting bees followed by bluish-black berries that attract birds late summer into fall. Well-suited as a foundation planting screen background or hedge and is great for using as a contrast to deeper-colored foliage. While this species can tolerate some drought a more lush-looking plant will be achieved with moderate watering. Survives in a variety of different soil conditions but prefers a well-drained soil. Full sun to light shade.
