Liriope Big Blue produces abundant blue flower spikes that rise above the arching grass like foliage.  They are followed by clusters of black berries.  This liriope typically grows 12 to 18 inches high.  The erect showy flower spikes rise just above the leaves in late summer. The flowers then give way in fall to blackish berries.

Liriope is also called lilyturf.  Lilyturf is considered a workhorse plant for warmer shade gardens.  It thrives in courtyards and atriums where the soil often remains moist a lot of the time.  Its uniform growth size makes it ideal as an edging plant.
