Mahonia Aquifolium ‘Compacta’ makes an excellent and durable low maintenance evergreen shrub for large plantings or borders. Compacta’s new growth has a bronze-red coloring that turns to a glossy deep green. The handsome purplish red foliage adds some color during winter months.
Mahonia Aquifolium ‘Compacta’ is versatile as a shrub and is quite useful in smaller gardens where its dense evergreen foliage can cover the sparse lower growth of taller plants. It is ideal because of its unique form and texture especially in shaded patio gardens.
